Free Stuff!

So folks you’ve probably seen it plenty of times. Free items. Just sign up and get referrals and complete X number of deals from our advertisers and you get a very expensive item for free! iPods, XBox 360s, PS3s, Wii systems, $200-$500 gift cards. Sometimes you can just go for direct cash that’s of the same value as items they give for free (they often deposit it into paypal). But does it really work? Hopefully we’re going to find out!

These types of sites have recently been featured on CNN and some other TV news reports. Lately these sites have even shown photos folks receiving their item (or screen shots for those that opted for money via PayPal). But how many of you know these people? What if you heard it from somebody who you knew? Would you believe it?

How do they work? Somebody (like me) finds a referral (or sometimes finds the site on accident) and registers under that referral and completes an offer from a paid advertising company that generally requires a credit card. This usually includes “30 day risk free” offers, $5-$10 per month subscription services, $40 items, things like that. Then you get other folks (like you) to do just the same, only using the refferal link (i.e.: my links) as the way of registering with the site.

After that, then those folks can attempt to do the same to try and get THEIR free item. So what’s the catch? Seems like none! Just one big thing: DO NOT TRY TO CHEAT THE SYSTEM. Don’t have your roommates all sign up because they’ll kick you off for using the same IP. Don’t use multiple accounts of your own. Give them a REAL address. If you need to, you CAN create a secondary e-mail address of your own for the purpose of this. Sometimes it’s good for separating it out anyway.

Don’t break the terms of service, don’t try to fake out the companies. Just do it legitimately. Do NOT believe anybody telling you that you can sign up with 999 instant referrals by using them as a referral. 1) That’s more than likely bullshit and a way to get people to sign up under their name. 2) If it WAS true, they’d be banned already and YOU’D be banned easily. They need to review everybody’s referrals to see that they’re legit.

Once you finish the procedure of the referrals and the offer (or offers), cash in! It seems like it usually takes a total of about a month overall from that point to receive it. 2 weeks for them to get to checking your referrals and 2 weeks for you to receive the item from them. They often even ship it for free!
